Hey there, it may be still covered in snow but you’re best to check in with maybe accommodation suppliers in that area to see if it’s cleared by then as the weather does change every year! Hope that helps 🙂 Anita

The road to Theth is done now, so any type of car can drive there.
It was great for us to see it done as we went with normal car, so we were not sure if we can reach Theth based on the info we found on internet.

Thanks for all these info.
Me and my girlfriend also want to do a trip to Albania and visit Theth. But we will arrive in Tirana close to midnight, so we will stay there for one night to start our way to Theth the next morning. May I ask what would be your advice?
If we take the bus to Shkoder, we will arrive too late to catch the van in Shkoder at 7am, right?

I definitely met people who were doing the hike both ways but the most popular option is to get a shuttle from Shkoder to Theth, then do the hike to Valbona and take the ferry + shuttle back to Shkoder, or the other way around! Either way, your accommodation supplier will be able to organise it for you. They will ring and book you in and then you will pay the driver on the day. The shuttle between Theth and Shkoder is 10 euro 🙂
